Changes announced in JEE (advanced) 2023 for Overseas Citizen of India/ Person of Indian Origin

The eligibility conditions for the Overseas Citizen of India/ Person of Indian Origin (OCI/PIO) candidates shall remain the same as earlier announced, i.e. they will be eligible to appear directly for JEE (Advanced) 2023 without appearing in JEE (Main) 2023. This measure shall be applicable only for the year 2023. The fees payable by the OCI/PIO candidates have been revised and are at par with the fees payable by Indian nationals.

During the seat allocation process for IITs, the eligible OCI/PIO candidates who qualify in JEE (Advanced) 2023 shall be eligible to compete for the Open category seats in the General (GEN) and GEN-Person with Disability (PwD) categories as applicable. Eligible Female OCI/PIO candidates who qualify in JEE (Advanced) 2023 shall also be entitled to be considered for the Open Female Supernumerary seats in GEN and GEN-PwD categories as applicable.

All candidates are advised to carefully read the revised Information Brochure for JEE (Advanced) 2023, which has been uploaded on the official website, https://jeeadv.ac.in/

It may be mentioned that the Supreme Court of India in a judgment on February 03, 2023 in Writ Petition (Civil) No. 891/ 2021, titled as Anushka Rengunthwar & Ors. Vs Union of India & Ors., had passed certain directions. The effect of the judgment has been considered by the Joint Admission Board, 2023 in its emergency meeting held on March 06, 2023. Accordingly, certain changes have been made to the Information Brochure for JEE (Advanced) 2023.
