Genesis Global School, Noida, recently organized the first edition of its newly incepted inter-school interdisciplinary competition MACOSCO 2024. The word MACOSCO is derived from the concept of the interdisciplinary event, which incorporates different subjects such as Mathematics, Art & English, Commerce, Science and Computer Science.
The daylong event, which blended creativity with critical thinking to address the crucial theme of sustainability, saw participation of over 120 students from top schools as Delhi Public School, Amity International School, JBM Global School, Khaitan School, Vishwa Bharati Public School and Delhi World Public School, in addition to host school (Genesis Global School )students from among others. The proceedings showed growing awareness and commitment among young people towards a more sustainable future.
The inter-school competition in sync with India’s National Education Policy, comprised a number of curated events like Shark Den, Math-Art Couture Show, Minecraft PVP Extravaganza, Marketing Gimmick AD-MAD and Design-O-Mania Poster Making. While Design-o Mania showcased innovative product designs with sustainable materials, Shark Den was a platform for the participating students to pitch eco-friendly business ideas. PVP Minecraft, meanwhile, allowed students to build sustainable environments in a virtual world, and Marketing Gimmick focused on promoting sustainability through creative campaigns. Another unique element of the competition was the Math Art Couture Show, which combined fashion and math to present sustainable concepts. The enthusiasm and dedication of the participants reflected the growing awareness and commitment among young people towards a more sustainable future
“Sustainability has in the modern times assumed utmost importance for the mankind and the developments we see as part of the globalization process. It is thus essential to make the citizens of tomorrow well versed with the various aspects of sustainable living in an engaging and creative manner, which constitutes the fundamental objective of events such as MACOSCO. We thank all the participants, students and the Genesis family for making it a success and it is quite impressive to see students tackling vital issues from new perspectives,” said Sanamdeep Chadha, Promoter & Director at Genesis Global School.
