Odisha’s skill-based varsity, Centurion University of Technology and Management (CUTM), has been honoured with the Excellence in Education Award for being an Outstanding Private University in Eastern Region at the 6th edition of APAC Global Education & Skill Conclave on May 10 in Delhi. “The vision to create an industry-ready workforce has been the prime motto of Centurion since its inception, and it gives us great satisfaction to see our unparallel vision and out-of-the-box learning model getting accolades,” said Dr Supriya Pattanayak, Vice Chancellor, Centurion University, which also is the first Indian university to be recognized as a Center of Excellence by the Ministry of Skill Development.
The varsity’s Director of Admissions, Sukanta Parida joined a panel discussion themed on ‘Designing Digital Infrastructure & Outlining Roadmap for New Education Model’, wherein he emphasized on the need of skill-integrated higher education. He pointed that the key to digitalization in the country will be through a hybrid model where online theory classes and on-campus practical training go hand in hand. Action and experiential learning is the future of education and Centurion University is already doing it.
