Dravidian University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with 1M1B (One Million for One Billion), a United Nations-accredited non-profit organization aimed at transforming the university into a 1M1B Future Ready Institution. The collaboration is focused on industry-aligned skill development, enhanced placement support, and global exposure for students.

The MoU signing ceremony was graced by Registrar Prof. V. Kiran Kumar and Dean of Academic Affairs Prof. K. Shyamala, both of whom played instrumental roles in facilitating this collaboration. They expressed pride in the university’s commitment to delivering holistic and future-ready education.

Founded in 2014, 1M1B holds Special Consultative Status with the United Nations ECOSOC and is affiliated to the United Nations Department of Global Communications. 1M1B’s various programs on AI and Green Skills are aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Its flagship initiative — the 1M1B Activate Impact Summit, held annually at the United Nations Headquarters in New York — showcases youth-led innovations and changemakers from India.

As part of this partnership, students at Dravidian University will gain access to:

  • Skill-building workshops on emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence and Green Skills
  • Entrepreneurship and leadership development programs
  • Mentorship and career guidance
  • Opportunities to represent their work at national and international platforms

Vice-Chancellor Prof. M. Doraswamy applauded the collaboration, calling it a milestone initiative that will prepare students for real-world challenges and emerging career opportunities.

Manav Subodh, Founder of 1M1B, said:  “It is an honour to partner with Dravidian University to skill university students and youth from the region. This initiative marks a significant step toward realizing Andhra Pradesh’s vision of sustainable growth — equipping the state’s youth with the skills and support needed to thrive in today’s economy.”
