DPS International School, Gurugram on April 10 and 11 hosted the second edition of Aurelia Model United Nations (MUN) 2026, 2026. Building on the momentum of its inaugural edition, the conference returned this year with a stronger focus on student-led dialogue and engagement with global themes.

This year’s theme, “Adipiscendi Ordinem: Striving for Order,” reflected current global realities. Against the backdrop of conflicts such as the Russia Ukraine war and instability in regions like South Sudan, the conference encouraged students to consider how the world can move towards cooperation in uncertain times.

Over two days, more than 250 delegates from over 30 schools and 12 diverse committees, across Delhi NCR came together to exchange ideas and debate perspectives through structured discussions, with emphasis on listening, questioning, and building informed viewpoints.

What set Aurelia MUN 2026 apart was its innovative and carefully curated committee structure. Moving beyond conventional MUN formats, the conference introduced niche committees that explored underrepresented yet critical areas of global discourse, encouraging delegates to think beyond standard narratives and engage in deeper, more nuanced discussion.

At its core, Aurelia MUN reflected DPS International School’s focus on holistic education and intellectual curiosity. The conference was entirely student led, with the organising committee driving both the conceptual and operational aspects. From shaping agendas to structuring debates, students took ownership of the experience, reflecting initiative, creativity, and a strong sense of responsibility.

The event was graced by Mr. Sunil Shastri, son of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri, and a former union minister as Chief Guest. His experience across banking, public service, and national politics, including his tenure in the Rajya Sabha and as Minister brought a grounded perspective to the conference. Speaking on the occasion, he said, “It is encouraging to see young minds engage seriously with global matters. Platforms like Aurelia MUN underline the importance of dialogue, patience, and consensus building, which are valuable not just in public life but in everyday decision making as well.”

Rima Singh, Head of DPS International School, commented, “Aurelia MUN represents learning beyond classrooms. It allows students to engage with real world complexities, understand different perspectives, and think independently. By placing them in situations that require dialogue, reflection, and reasoned response, it helps build both intellectual depth and a strong sense of responsibility. This approach is in keeping with the broader vision of Ms Devyani Jaipuria, Pro Vice Chairperson, to nurture individuals who are thoughtful, self-aware, and able to engage meaningfully with the world around them.”
