Mumbai-based ISDI ATLAS SkillTech University, established as a university in 2021 after beginning operations in 2016 as the Indian School of Design and Innovation (ISDI), has announced a major expansion of its academic portfolio into five new domains: Product & Technology, Fashion & Commerce, Communication & Media, Space & Environment, and Business & Entrepreneurship.
The university, which has completed five years of operations as a university, had initially built its design portfolio around undergraduate programmes in Fashion Design, Communication Design, Interior Design, Animation & VFX, Product Design, and AI-integrated Design, alongside postgraduate programmes and a one-year programme in Creative Entrepreneurship & Interior Styling.
The expanded portfolio will introduce a broader range of interdisciplinary undergraduate programmes from the 2027 academic year, bringing design together with technology, business, emerging media, fashion, the built environment and healthcare.
Product & Technology
Students will be able to pursue B.Des in Product Design, B.Tech in Design Engineering, or B.Tech in AI Integrated Design & Intelligent Products. The programmes are designed to prepare graduates for emerging roles including Product Designer, UX Designer, Design Engineer and AI Product Designer.
Fashion & Commerce
The new portfolio includes B.Des in Fashion Design & Technology, B.Des in Fashion Communication & Styling, B.Des in Fashion Brand Management, B.Des in Luxury Brand Strategy, and B.Des in Accessory Design & Craft. The programmes will offer pathways across fashion design, styling, brand management, luxury and craft.
Communication & Media
The university will offer B.Des in Communication Design & New Media and B.Des in Animation, VFX & Gaming, opening pathways to careers including Communication Designer, Art Director, Animator, VFX Artist and Game Designer.
Space & Environment
Under this domain, B.Des in Interior Design & Built Environment will prepare students for roles such as Interior Designer, Spatial Designer, Exhibition Designer and Environment Designer. The programme will provide hands-on exposure to contemporary tools and techniques for visualisation, rendering and spatial design.
Business & Entrepreneurship
The business-oriented portfolio will comprise B.Des in Strategic Design & Innovation Management, B.Des in Service & Experience Design, and B.Des in Health & Care Design. These programmes are aimed at emerging roles including Design Strategist, Innovation Manager, Service Designer, Experience Designer and Healthcare Designer, connecting design education with the evolving needs of business, services and healthcare.
