IndiaMART, India’s leading online B2B marketplace, has been honoured with the Mahatma Award 2026 in recognition of its work across in the area of education.  Recognized as an honor for organizations embodying Mahatma Gandhi’s timeless principles of trusteeship, equality, truth, and social justice, the award ceremony was hosted on October 1, 2026, at the India International Centre (IIC), New Delhi.

The recognition acknowledges IndiaMART’s multi-year CSR efforts around the vision “Leaving No Dreams Behind” and enabling sustainable socio-economic development through education, skill development and rural school infrastructure. So far, the company has:

  • Supported 60+ schools and improved learning environments for over 26,000 students in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh. In Karnataka’s MM Hills region, its education initiatives have reached 6,000+ children across 44+ schools and 19+ kindergartens, supported by computer centres, scholarships and other learning resources.
  • Through its partnership with Khan Academy, IndiaMART has enabled regional-language, technology-led learning for 96000+ students in KGBV and social welfare schools across Uttar Pradesh.  In skill development and entrepreneurship, IndiaMART works with Udhyam Learning Foundation. Its initiatives have impacted 10 lakh students across 1,900+ schools, trained 2,000+ teachers and engaged 1,46,580 students through Startup Stormers.

Supported by the Aditya Birla Group, and instituted by renowned philanthropist Amit Sachdeva, the Mahatma Award celebrates changemakers across social responsibility, sustainability, environment, social service and public affairs.

Brijesh Agrawal, Co-founder – IndiaMART said, “Talent and ambition are distributed far more equally than opportunities. And education is the strongest foundation of equal opportunity. The promise of a developed India will be realised when a child’s postal code never decides the ceiling of their ambition. Where they are born, what their parents earn, or their gender should not determine their possibilities. A developed India will be one where opportunity finds everyone. We are working in mission mode to create those opportunities on the ground, for every child. This recognition is a humbling validation of our efforts and we continue to scale our efforts and contribute meaningfully toward nation building.”
