Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) held its mega cultural and literary youth extravaganza KVS “Ek Bharat Shreshth Bharat Parv” coinciding with the occasion of birth anniversary of country’s first home minister, SardarVallabhbhai Patel to celebrate nation’s Unity in Diversity and to reconnect and preserve the widespread emotional bonds among the people of our country. In all 28 competitive events took place over four days which began on Oct 31 with 2375 participants.
To add on pleasant flavors of Indian culture and traditions, participants from all 25 KVS regions are paired to represent another state different than their own. The concept behind this is to celebrate the idea of India as a nation wherein different cultural units across varied geographies coalesce and interact with each other, this glorious manifestation of diverse cuisine, music, dance, theatre, handicrafts, sports, literature, festivals, painting, sculpture, etc. will enable people to imbibe the innate chord of binding and brotherhood.
All the 25 regions of KVS are allotted one state different from their own state and one Country. The students prepare projects/exhibits on the culture, customs, dress, crops, economy, climate etc. of the state and of the country allotted to them.
Minister for Human Resource Development Ramesh Pokhriyal‘Nishank’ while inaugurating the carnival said, “In our journey of making and forming new India it is our challenge to be a world leader in the fields of Science and Education till 2021.” While addressing the event Sanjay Shamrao Dhotre, MoS, paid his homage to the first Home Minister of India, Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel and also commended the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan for organizing “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat Parv.” Santosh Kumar Mall, Commissioner, KVS discussed the idea of EBSB Parv with the august gathering. He said that Parv’s aim is to actively enhance interaction between students of diverse cultures living in different States of India.
The mega cultural and literary event culminated in a grand cultural evening with Prize Distribution to the winners of various events. Kolkata Region bagged 1st position as the overall winner under Ek Bharat SHreshth Bharat category, while Bengaluru stood first in the category of Language of LitFest and Bhopal Region got first position in the Display of Artefacts or Exhibition. A total number of 28 events were organized during the Parv.
“Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” on its concluding day adopted “Swachh Bharat” as its side theme to promote awareness on clean and green environment. Today’s outstanding exhibition based on the side theme was presented by KVS Gurugram Region. There were four different side themes allotted for all the four days, namely Fit India, Samagra Shiksha & Jal Suraksha, Ban on Single use Plastic and Swachh Bharat.
