Tech giant Microsoft and Idealabs Futuretech Ventures, will partner together to push forward the AI Digital Labs programme in India. The partnership was announced in a webinar AI Digital Labs, held on Aug 20, 2020.

Following this partnership, Idealabs will work closely with Microsoft and bring its expertise and extended ecosystem to the table to take the AI Digital Labs programme to grassroots level in India. The company will provide deep-dive programmes for students in emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Internet of Things, Cloud & Data Science that will boost their career prospects. Participants in these programmes will be provided access to cloud-based lab facilities, which will offer them first-hand experience in the intelligent technologies. These programmes will also provide the students an opportunity to participate in national and international hackathons to showcase their talent. On successful completion of the programme participants will be awarded with a Microsoft’s course completion certification.

“Creating the right talent in AI is the biggest challenge. This initiative by Microsoft and Idealabs is at a very appropriate time and students and colleges across India will benefit” said Jayesh Ranjan (Principal Secretary, Information Technology, Govt. of Telangana).

To bridge the skills gap between academia and industry, Microsoft launched the AI Digital Labs programme in 2019 in collaboration with ten higher education institutions in India, including BITS, ISB, and BML Munjal University. Through this programme, Microsoft helps students and young professionals move effectively from the classroom to 21st century careers.
