Billabong High International School, Thane, has been rebranded as as Finland International School after the promoter Goenka Global Education (GGE) entered into partnership with EduCluster Finland. The school in new avatar shall be incorporating one of the best practices of school education in the world.

The Finnish curriculum has been mapped with various boards like ICSE/IGCSE/IB and made suitable for the Indian scenario, where local teachers will be upskilled under the guidance of highly qualified Finnish educators. The Finnish mentor teachers will be present physically for continuous collaboration and co-teaching.  While the current School boards and their assessments will all remain the same, the curriculum will be enhanced with higher order thinking skills and life skills education. It must be noted that GGE is already the front runner in starting the first accredited Finnish system of education in Pune.

Shashank Goenka, Managing Director, Goenka Global Education said, “The aim is not only to build a global, empowering educational system, but also to foster infrastructure, a learning community and an atmosphere which is student-centric and inspiring. By introducing Finnish education to our existing school, we envision to enhance the standard of education with an emphasis on creating a mindset of curiosity and evolution. We are confident that this step is one giant leap towards creating future-ready, happy students.”
