‘Engineering’ Hackfest-23 winners declared

The winners of the Hackfest-23, one of the most prominent engineering competitions in South India, across three domains – Electronics, Digitization, and Mechanical, have been announced by the organizers– AXISCADES Technologies Ltd. and Mistral Solutions Pvt. Ltd on July 4.

The teams were evaluated based on their creativity, technical excellence, totality of solution and socio-industrial impact. After careful deliberation, the jury selected the winners from each category:

 

  • Electronics Domain
  • Winner:Team “Circuit Breakers” from BIT, Bengaluru – Karnataka
  • 1stRunner up: Team “Angry Birds” from Mount Zion College of Engineering & Technology, Pudukkottai – Tamil Nadu
  • 2ndRunner up: Team “DUTAH” from Bannari Amman Institute of Technology, Erode – Tamil Nadu

 

  • Digitization Domain
  • Winner: Team “TechPriests” from BIT, Bengaluru – Karnataka
  • 1stRunner up: Team “Team Titans” from BIT, Bengaluru – Karnataka
  • 2ndRunner up: Team “Vanguards of VR” from Bannari Amman Institute of Technology, Erode – Tamil Nadu

 

  • Mechanical Domain
  • Winner:Team “TECH POWER” from KS Rangasamy College of Technology, Tiruchengode – Tamil Nadu
  • 1stRunner up: Team “ ZIGMA” from Mount Zion College of Engineering & Technology, Pudukkottai – Tamil Nadu
  • 2ndRunner up: Team “Electrontwerpers” from M.Kumarasamy College of Engineering, Karur – Tamil Nadu

In addition to the winners, Team Rovers from GNITS, Hyderabad, and Team Kinetic Tile from KCG College of Technology, Chennai received Special Jury Awards for their projects.

The winning teams were rewarded with a consolidated prize money of ₹7 Lakh in addition to an offer for internship for each student, as a testament to their outstanding efforts and ingenuity.

The competition provided an exceptional platform for engineering students to demonstrate their innovative technology solutions aimed at solving real-world challenges faced by various industries and society. The competition attracted an overwhelming response with 76 colleges, 1012 teams, and a total of 2368 students registering for the event. After an intense competition of over 2 months, the Grand Finale took place at BIT, Bengaluru, on Friday, 30th June, starting at 9.00 AM.

Grand Finale Highlights:

– No. of Colleges Participating: 16

– No. of Teams Participating: 39

– No. of Students Participating: 110

The finalists had an incredible opportunity to present their prototypes to an esteemed jury panel, led by the Chief Guest Dr. S. Christopher, Professor at IITM Electrical Department, and former Chairman of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). Joining him on the panel were Mr. Rajeev Ramachandra, Group CTO at AXISCADES and Mistral, and Mr. Anees Ahmed, President and Co-Founder of Mistral Solutions.
