Raghu Meetei, Deputy Director, Directorate of Technology Development and Innovation (DTDI), ISRO on August 19 addressed students of Bal Bharati Public School, Pitampura, New Delhi as part of EduOdyssey event organized by the school with SPACE India.

The focal point of the event was the recent endeavor by ISRO, Chandrayaan-3, which served as a catalyst for EduOdyssey. Students perceived in-depth information about Chandrayaan 3, Vikram Lander’s capability, engine automation of soft landing, and engineering modifications made from Chandrayaan 2 failure. “The space sector beckons with equitable opportunities for all, irrespective of one’s academic background,” Meetei told the students.

A fireside chat ensued between Dr. Sachin Bahmba, CMD of SPACE India and Meetei was a highlight of the program. This interactive session served as a platform for students to pose insightful questions, thereby fortifying the event’s overarching goal of nurturing a fervor for science, space exploration, and cutting-edge technology among the youth. “We firmly believe that Mr. Meetei’s involvement will ignite a spark within the learners and motivate them to unleash their full potential and strive for excellence in every facet of their lives,” stated Shivam Gupta, Managing Director of SPACE India.

Beyond the discourse on Chandrayaan-3, the event also provided a glimpse into ISRO’s ambitious future ventures in space exploration. Participants were offered a sneak preview of upcoming missions, including Aditya-L1, designed to unravel the mysteries of the Sun, and Gaganyaan, India’s pioneering human spaceflight mission. The evening culminated with a captivating Astronomy showcase by SPACE India, leaving attendees awestruck.
