Get Set Learn (GSL), a future-skills-focused learning startup, has partnered with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) to launch the Skills for New Bharat initiative. The partnership aims to drive a mindset shift in schools, empowering 1 million students in K-12 over five years with an entrepreneurial mindset and preparing them to thrive in a rapidly evolving world shaped by AI, automation, and digital transformation.

The collaboration focuses on three key pillars: the development of a Future Skills Report to identify in-demand competencies, the establishment of Future Skills Tinkering Labs across schools in India, and the integration of Get Set Learn’s Industry challenges platform SOLVEIT with NSDC Digital. This will provide students with hands-on experience through real-world industry challenges, encouraging them to apply their knowledge and gain recognition for problem-solving efforts.

The Future Skills Tinkering Labs will be established across schools nationwide, forming an interconnected hub-and-spoke model. These innovation labs will provide students with the opportunity to experiment, explore, and build hands-on projects to equip them with the skills, mindset, and toolset necessary for the future of work.

A critical element of the collaboration also is the launch of Get Set Learn’s SolveIT X NSDC Digital industry Challenges platform, where students will have the opportunity to tackle global challenges, earning rewards and gaining valuable recognition. By prioritizing essential 21st-century skills—such as critical thinking, creativity, digital literacy, and AI proficiency—the initiative ensures that students are well-prepared for the challenges and opportunities that will define tomorrow’s workforce.

Ved Mani Tiwari, CEO, NSDC and MD, NSDC International added, “By embedding future skills into the K-12 ecosystem, we are laying the foundation for a skilled and employable India. It is a key step in addressing the accelerating demand for future-ready skills in emerging technologies like AI, ML, and Robotics. It also deeply aligns with the Prime Minister’s vision of making India a ‘Viksit Bharat’ by 2047.”

The setting up of Future Skills Tinkering Labs across schools will form an interconnected phygital tinkering lab ecosystem. Get Set Learn and NSDC will roll out specialized courses in entrepreneurship, design thinking, artificial intelligence, robotics, leadership, and soft skills such as change management, resilience, and collaboration. These courses will be delivered through experiential learning formats, including programs, bootcamps, immersions, and industry engagements to facilitate a seamless transition for students from education to employment. In addition, hackathons will become a way of life, ensuring that students have opportunities to engage with real-world challenges regularly.

Ameet Zaverii, CEO & Co-founder GSL added: “This partnership marks a monumental step in equipping students with the critical skills needed for India, helping build a future workforce that will lead us into the next era of global excellence. We invite progressive schools to join us in this exciting journey and collaborate to shape the future of learning together.”
