IIT Alumni Council announces results of Theme Music Video Competition

To further foster the collaborative spirit amongst the IIT community, the IIT Alumni Council had organized a “Theme Music Video Competition” across IITs for students, faculty and alumni in May.  The competition categories were: – Faculty members – Students – Alumni.

In this competition, teams/ individuals had to prepare and submit a music video of the given theme song (refer Annexure 2 and 3). In addition to awards, the winners will also be offered the unique opportunity to collaborate and create the official video for the IIT Alumni Council showcasing students, faculty, alumni and campuses of all 23 IITs.

The lyrics of the theme song have been written in Hindi by Ravi Sharma, an IIT Alumnus with a keen interest in poetry and translated in English by Sandhya Prakash.

The entries were judged by an eminent panel of musicians and industry professionals. The Jury for the competition was: Amit Khanna Chairperson of the Jury Producer, director, writer, lyricist, Ex vice chair Reliance Entertainment Roop & Sunali Rathod Singers.  They were the first entertainers to be associated with the NSCI Dome facility Rahul Ram Indian Ocean band IITK Alumnus and Role model for many budding musicians at the IITs.
