Centre for Teacher Accreditation Private Limited has launched its enhanced native application CENTA as a mobile app after it launched itself on the web four years ago. The native app version was launched at the Global Teachers’ Meet, held online through Jio Events platform recently. Now available on Google Playstore and Apple App Store, the app is expected to make access to skill upgradation and accreditation significantly easier. This will help reach a much larger number of teachers, especially in tier-2 and tier-3 towns, where the proliferation of smartphones is higher than computers.
Dr. Carlos Vegas (International Task Force on Teachers, UNESCO) spoke at the virtual launch event about global mobility as an opportunity to address the problem of Teacher shortage. Subramaniam Ramadorai (Former CEO & MD, Tata Consultancy Services) initiated a discussion on the collaboration between nations & teachers to shape the economy and Usha Kakarla (Principal Secretary, School Education – Govt. of Tamil Nadu) spoke about the state’s initiatives including competency development & leadership training for teachers as well as school leaders. Recognizing and honouring the vital role of educators in the economy, Prachi Lahiri, a Teacher from National Public School, Bangalore, delivered the keynote address for the event. The Global Teachers’ Meet also saw teachers being rewarded and recognized based on their performance in the CENTA International Teaching Professionals Olympiad(TPO), as well as teachers who have invested in their own professional development.
With participation from educators, policymakers, and business leaders representing globally diverse backgrounds, the event facilitated an exchange of ideas and best practices.
