‘Unmet needs offer good opportunities for INNOVATION in India’: IIM-Bangalore Dir

JAIN University’s 2-day International Conference on Innovative Practices for Sustainable Development: Business Management and Analytics Day 1

JAIN (Deemed-to-be University), one of the top-ranked private universities in India, kicked off Day 1 of its  2-day day International Conference on Innovative Practices for Sustainable Development: Business Management and Analytics by gathering an array of erudites on a single platform. It was  first major seminar after the hiatus of Covid19 pandemic lockdowns by the university even though this was conducted in a hybrid mode with more than 124 research scholars presenting from countries across the world. The international conference had received more than 200 research papers.

The inaugural address was delivered by Prof. Rishikesha T Krishnan, Director and Professor of Strategy, Indian Institute of Management – Bangalore on “Making frugal innovation more sustainable.” He said, “Good opportunities for innovations in India can be gained by simply identifying the unmet needs. It’s important to start from scratch because there is already a cost embedded in the solution otherwise.” In his opening remarks  Dr. Raj Singh, Vice-Chancellor of Jain (Deemed-to-be University) commented: “Whoever cleans the dirt will glitter like gold”.

The keynote address by Dr. Amitabh Anand, Associate Professor, Excelia Business School, La Rochelle France, emphasized on how “We consume social media and technology more than food”.

The conference research presentations were conducted in a hybrid mode, with more than 124 research scholars who presented from countries across the world.

Day two of the conference will witness the valedictory function with the presence of Smt. D. Roopa Moudgil, IPS, Managing Director at Karnataka State Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd. (A Govt. of Karnataka Undertaking). Other dignitaries include: Mr. Vijetha Shastri, Executive Director, Dexter Capital; Anirudh Vasudevan, Senior Director – HR, Replicon. Also, the “Best Research Paper” will be awarded with a cash prize.
