Theatron 2023, the Inter-School Theatre Festival by Delhi Public School R.K. Puram was a huge spectacle having a diverse spectrum of 11 distinct events, each reinforcing the transformative power of theatre. Students from 40 different schools participated in these events, which were not just about the performances on stage, but also about the collective experiences shared by approximately 1,500 attendees. Their passion for theatre contributed to the vibrant atmosphere that defines Theatron and these dynamic events included  Street Play (Nukkad Ki Goonj), Stage Play (Stage-a-Thon), Advertisement Enactment (Ads Act), Shakespearean Monologue (Thespian Coliseum), Play-o-Poem, Movie Making (Lights, Camera Action!), Mime (मकू ाभि नय), Standup Comedy, Dance Drama (Tell a Tale Through Aesthetic Movements), Courtroom Drama (Res Ipsa Loquitur), Surprise Event (Bolt from the Blue).

Harinder Sikka, author of the book ‘Calling Sehmat’ that formed the basis of the famous movie, ‘Raazi’ was the chief guest of the event. The events engaged the audience and the participants in thought-provoking ideas with compelling themes that shed light on various social challenges. Each event initiated vital conversations and fostered awareness. They were not just designed to entertain but also to inspire change. Theatron blended fun with thoughtfulness, making every performance a playful and insightful exploration. The enjoyment that the audience derived from the performances was coupled with food for thought, underlining the unique essence of theatre. The event promoted the spirit of theatre, creativity, and camaraderie. It also extended its legacy of stirring inspiration and kindling the passion in theatre enthusiasts.

Organized by the Expressions Theatre Club, the members say they were  fueled by a consistent “Thirst for Theatre”, and worked under the able guidance of the principal Ms. Padma Srinivasan and the teacher in charge Ms. Sanya Taneja. The Expressions Theatre Club, is seen as one of the most prestigious clubs in the school theatre circuit. It maintains a steadfast commitment to discipline, creativity, and ambition.
