He will conduct research in HEI administration to usher in best practices in India
Prof (Dr) Sandeep Vasant, Registrar and Professor of Computer Science at the Navrachana University, Vadodara, has got the Fulbright Nehru International Fellowship to conduct research in critical area of administration of Higher Education Institutions.
As a Fulbright fellow, Prof Sandeep Vasant will conduct research in fostering a student-centric culture in Indian Universities, something he has been implementing at the Ahmedabad, Anant, and Navrachana University as a Registrar for the last eight years.
His other research areas at Fulbright will be the internationalization of the university, faculty & student exchange programs and exploring collaborations with US universities for innovative curriculum design. Prof Sandeep Vasant will spend his quality research time in an important area of evaluating regulatory controls and bringing reforms in the policies and guidelines of HEI in India.
Prof Sandeep Vasant’s distinguished record of academic and administrative scholarship during the last 20 years has contributed to his selection as a Fulbright fellow. He is one of the 8 to 10 scholars who has been selected from India for the fellowship after a stringent and rigorous drill of 18 months.
Besides his scholarship in his domain of computer science, Prof Sandeep Vasant began his career with the Ahmedabad University where he taught computer science for 11 years before taking over as the Academic Registrar, a post he served for 4 years. He is now a Registrar at the Navrachana University for the last three and a half years.
