Manav Rachna hosts HackIndia Web3, Team Dash emerged victorious

The inaugural HackIndia Web3 Hackathon 2024 organized by CSharpCorner at Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies (MRIIRS), Faridabad gathered over 600 student developers from across India to delve into Web3 innovations. The Department of Computer Science and Engineering and the Department of Computer Applications , part of School of Engineering and Technology (SET) and the School of Computer Applications (SCA)  jointly  hosted this inaugural HackIndia Web3 Hackathon 2024.

The Hackathon featured problem domains such as Generative AI, Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality, IoT, Cloud, and an Open Track, with sub-tracks including dApps, Blockchain, NFTs, DeFi, and Web3 for Social Good. Support came from companies like Rair Tech, Lotus, Ample, Sharp Innovation Foundation, Akash Network, Alchemy, and Solana.

The top three teams—Team Dash (Winner), TechnoNinja (First Runner-Up), and Sankalp (Second Runner-Up)—were awarded and will compete in the Delhi finals.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering and the Department of Computer Applications at the School of Engineering and Technology (SET) and the School of Computer Applications (SCA) together made this an exciting  learning experience for the participants.

The event began with an inaugural ceremony featuring distinguished guests: Dr. Naresh Grover, Pro-Vice Chancellor; Dr. Pradeep Kumar, Pro-Vice Chancellor; Mr. Ramesh Nair, Registrar; Dr. Brijesh Kumar, Dean, SCA; Dr. Geeta Nijhawan, Associate Dean (SET);  Dr. Suhail Javed Quraishi, HoD-SCA, and Dr Tapas Kumar, HoD-CSE.

Sahil Aujla, Developer Relations at Alchemy delivered the keynote address who captivated the audience with an engaging overview of blockchain technology, including Smart Contracts, NFTs, and Bitcoin. He encouraged participants to use Alchemy’s tools to develop innovative blockchain solutions. Piyush and Chetnya from Akash Network showcased their decentralized cloud marketplace, addressing challenges in centralized cloud systems. Suresh from Rair Tech introduced how integrating NFT technology with video streaming enables content creators to tokenize their work for NFT-gated access.

The valedictory session saw Dr. Naresh Grover congratulate the advancing teams and express gratitude for hosting the event. Vice Chancellor, Dr. Sanjay Srivastava emphasized the importance of perseverance and self-discovery in the “Perform or Perish Era.”
