LPU’s Team Reddix wins 8th International World Robotics Championship

Lovely Professional University (LPU)’s team Reddix has won the International Championship among 70 teams from over 55 countries competing for the 8th Edition of the World Robotics Championship-TechnoXian in New Delhi.

The team from LPU’s Department of Student Research and Project comprising Mihir, Ravi, Nandish, Anish, Vishnu, Sumanth, Mohit, and Ashish Kumar Singh showed exceptional talent in the robot hockey category.

The competition organised by the International Federation of eSports, the All India Council for Robotics & Automation, and the Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology, Government of India, stands as the world’s largest robotics championship series attracting participants from diverse corners of the globe, including teams from Russia, Azerbaijan, Iran, the UAE, and more.

The journey towards constructing robots capable of excelling at an international level demanded not only creativity but also investment in top-tier components. Through several riveting rounds of competition, Team Reddix advanced to the finals, where they faced a formidable team from Russia in a nail-biting showdown. Despite the intense pressure, the preparation and unwavering perseverance of the LPU team paid off.  LPU bots executed every move flawlessly. The seamless integration of crucial components ensured superior control and reliability on the field, ultimately culminating in the team clinching 1st place in the Robot Hockey competition.

Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and founder Chancellor of LPU, Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal, took immense pride in Team Reddix’s remarkable achievement. “Securing 1st place among 55 countries stands as a monumental milestone for LPU, underscoring the team’s unwavering dedication, ingenuity, and the university’s commitment to nurturing future technocrats capable of making impactful contributions in the ever-evolving landscape of technology,” he added.
