PhysicsWallah (PW) is set to deepen its presence in South India as part of a strategic expansion aimed at extending its affordable, technology-enabled education model to more learners across the region. Alakh Pandey, Founder and CEO, PhysicsWallah, has announced that he will dedicate the next 24 months to strengthening the company’s engagement with students in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala.

As part of its initial expansion efforts, PhysicsWallah has entered into a five-year partnership with Mohan Babu University (MBU). Under the agreement, PW will provide online courses in artificial intelligence, skilling and career-oriented learning to approximately 18,000 MBU students.

The partnership represents an institutional route for PW to expand beyond examination preparation and offer technology-enabled learning and career development opportunities through university collaborations.

Addressing students at a recent event in Tirupati, Pandey said he would be stationed in South India during this period to drive the company’s expansion and create a more measurable impact in the region.

“For the next 24 months, my life will be dedicated to students in South India, and I will be stationed here,” said Pandey, popularly known as Alakh Sir.

Elaborating on the company’s regional strategy, he said, “Since PW’s inception until today, I feel we need to create a more measurable impact in the southern part of our country. For the next 24 months, I want to dedicate my focus to states such as Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala to increase PW’s presence in these regions and bring the same quality education we provide in other states.”

Founded in 2020 by Alakh Pandey and Prateek Maheshwari, PhysicsWallah has expanded its presence across India’s education and test-preparation ecosystem. According to company-provided information, the platform has reached more than 40 million students since its inception, while over 5 million paid students enrolled in FY 2026 alone.

The company operates across 16 test-preparation examination categories and claims market leadership in 12 of them. Its digital outreach includes a social media community of more than 142 million, while its mobile application recorded over 89.4 million cumulative downloads as of FY 2025–26, according to the company.

Language accessibility is a key component of PhysicsWallah’s expansion strategy. Initially recognised for its Hinglish-based courses, the company’s learning ecosystem has expanded to include Hindi, English, Hinglish and nine regional languages.

The multilingual approach is intended to support the company’s efforts to reach students across diverse linguistic communities in South India and reduce language-related barriers to education access.
