WorldSkills India Training Centers for Media & Entertainment launched

To start with Media & Entertainment Skill Sector Council is setting up 14 Authorized WorldSkills India Training Centers (AWSITCs) across nine major cities with a wish to increase the reach in all the states and Union territories. Currently, AWSITCs are being established in Chandigarh, Chennai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Indore, Mumbai, Pune, Shillong and Trivandrum.

While announcing the launching of these centres in New Delhi on Oct 15, union skills minister, Dr. Mahendra Nath Pandey expressed the hope that the students who will train in them will bring laurels and glory to country in world competitions.

Chairman MESC and filmmaker Subash Ghai assured everyone about the endurance of excellence with high optimism to get gold in every WorldSkills and other international Competitions by the students of AWSITC. Media & Entertainment Skills Council aims to create a history in WorldSkills competitions by grooming and preparing the candidates at the Authorized World Skills training centers. Here candidates will be nurtured as per international standards to meet global requirements.

 The programs at AWSITC are industry linked and all the candidates get hands-on training on live projects. Students trained at AWSITC will participate and showcase their expertise in various National and International competitions and make the country proud.

The occasion was also used to felicitate WorldSkills experts and winners which among others included bronze medal winner in Worldskills 2019 at Kazan—Shweta RatanPura and her mentor Sathish Narayan who also received  INR I,00,000 as an honorarium whereas winner of Medallion of Excellence in 3D game Art, Nidhin prem and his mentor Pradeep Kumar received INR 50,000. The WorldSkills India participant in Print Media Technology Shrenik Gagule and his mentor Sameer Prabhune received INR 20,000 each for scoring 11th Rank.

The event was hosted by FICCI.
