CENMUN 2025 (Centre Point Model United Nations), the 8th edition of Centre Point School, Wardhaman Nagar’s signature event held early this month brought together 1,063 students from 38 schools in the Vidarbha region. This made it Central India’s biggest MUN (Model United Nations) conference. Having more than 1,000 fresh minds at the conference provided a dynamic platform for discussion, debate, and negotiation on global issues facing the world.

A highlight of this year’s CENMUN was the innovative “Shadow Council of Influence.” This futuristic simulation was borrowed from actual concepts of shadow government and clandestine influence in international politics. The council simulated a hypothetical geopolitical situation where a cold war evolved into a ‘Shadow War’ by 2055, with stimulating debates on diplomacy, power, and strategy.

Completely student-run, the conference saw senior secondary students manning all functions. They planned committee composition and agendas, organized logistics, and finances. For participants and organizers alike, CENMUN ensured honing their abilities in leadership, critical thinking, public speaking, and diplomacy fostering empathy and understanding of cultures.

Kanchan Ukey, school principal commenting on the successful conference congratulated the students for the excellent quality of debating issues selected each year, giving learners ample scope to research and analyze global issues and engage in informed discussions. “The fact that it is organised entirely by senior secondary learners and helps build so many important life skills in them, ” she added.
