CM Rise Vinoba School of Ratlam (Madhya Pradesh), a government school, has been announced as the winner in the ‘Innovation’ category of ‘World’s Best School Prize, 2024’ by London-based T4 Education on Oct 25. Schools from multiple countries like the US, UK, Spain, Brazil, Mexico, Kenya and Thailand were in contention for this award in the ‘Innovations’ category, apart from India.

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav congratulated the school team and the School Education Department. School Education Minister of Madhya Pradesh Uday Pratap Singh also congratulated all teachers and staff of CM Rise School Ratlam and School Education Department for this achievement. The Minister said that this historic achievement is not only an important achievement for the state but for the entire nation because the school has won this title, leaving behind schools of the world.

The award has showcased the capabilities of government schools in India globally. At the same time, it has also proved that world-class education is possible even in remote tribal areas. CM Rise Vinoba School has proved through its bold and innovative methodologies in the “Innovation” category that the level of education can be highest anywhere and under any circumstances.

Dr. Sanjay Goyal, Secretary, School Education, said, “The World’s Best Schools Prizes, organized by London-based T4 Education, provides a global platform to schools that have made a positive impact on their students and communities by leading in education. This global recognition of CM Rise Vinoba is the result of the visionary thinking, unwavering dedication and exemplary efforts of the teachers, school leaders and the community.”

This achievement has come after going through a phase-wise judging procedure involving a global jury. Two schools from the state were the first to be nominated for this award. After several rounds of interviews, they were selected in the top 10 of two separate categories. While CM Rise School Kalyanpura, Jhabua got selected for “Supporting Healthy Lives” category, CM Rise Vinoba School Ratlam made it to the Top 10 for “Innovation” category. Finally, CM Rise Ratlam, made it to the finals by securing a place in the top three and eventually secured the winner’s position in its category while competing with schools from United Kingdom and Thailand.

It is noteworthy that CM Rise Vinoba has implemented many innovative initiatives due to which the school deserves this amazing victory. These initiatives include:

  • Weekly training sessions for continuous development of teachers.
  • Use of online learning material that not only strengthens the development of teachers but also the learning of students.
  • Virtual interaction to ensure parents’ involvement in children’s education.
  • Leveraging technology to track daily attendance through Google Forms.
  • Structured accreditation system for teachers, which encourages excellence.
  • Regular team building activities, to promote collaborative and positive culture among teachers.

The victory for the school, located in the tribal areas of the state, reflects the Madhya Pradesh government’s commitment to transform education. Led by the School Education Department, the continuous development efforts of teachers have laid the foundation for high-level and live learning classes for students, which have been recognized on the global platform today.

In this achievement, Peepul, a partner organization working as an educational partner for the CM Rise School program, has also been an important contributor. Peepul has collaborated with the School Education Department in formulating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for school processes for CM Rise Schools and strengthening the capacity of school leaders.

On this achievement, Kruti Bharucha, CEO & Founder, Peepul said, “It’s an incredible feat for a government school to have competed with private schools globally to have won this award. We hope that this raises the bar for systemic change & reform efforts, not only in Madhya Pradesh but also across many other government schools in India. Peepul doesn’t just run interventions – we work with government on holistic whole-school & whole-system transformation, & that’s the real mountain to move to shift towards better delivery of education.”

Announcing the awards, Mr. Vikas Pota, Founder & Chief Executive Officer, T4 Education, while congratulating the team of CM Rise Vinoba and the Government of Madhya Pradesh said, “This achievement shows that world-class education is being created in the government schools of India.
