The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for undergraduate admissions in 250+ participating universities, including 44+ central universities, is being conducted between 13 May and 03 June 2025 by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
Anil Nagar, Founder and CEO of Adda247, shares some last-minute exam tips and tricks to boost your chances of success in the CUET-UG 2025

  • Time Management, Choose Accuracy Over Volume
Time management is your greatest ally during CUET. Begin by scanning the section and attempting the easiest questions first; this builds momentum and boosts your confidence. If you find yourself stuck on a tricky question, mark it for review and move on quickly; every second counts. Remember, CUET is about accuracy, not volume; attempting fewer questions with precision is far better than rushing through all with errors.
  • Quick Recalls, Focus On Smart Revision
In the final leg of your prep, focus only on quick recall tools, flashcards, summary sheets, formula banks, and mind maps. Go over the most repeated concepts or areas where you’ve made mistakes before. Avoid starting anything new now, it will only create confusion and dilute your confidence. Use memory triggers like mnemonics or visual cues for subjects like Biology or History, they can help you retain tricky details during the paper.
  • Section Wise Strategy, Over Random Attempt
In domain-specific subjects like Business Studies, Physics, or Political Science, questions often revolve around NCERT-level understanding, so apply textbook logic over guesswork. For language papers, start with reading comprehension, it’s generally straightforward and can fetch easy marks quickly. In grammar and vocabulary sections, rely on rules and elimination techniques. Focus on accuracy here, because negative marking can hurt if you take blind chances.
  • Rest and Ready, Carry D-day Essentials
Your brain performs best when your body is balanced. Sleep well the night before , a tired mind can’t think sharply, especially in a timed exam. Carry all essentials: admit card, ID, pen, and water, being logistically sorted keeps your mind calm. Arrive early at the exam centre to settle your nerves and mentally walk through your strategy one last time before entering.
  • Winner Mindset, Have Self-Confidence
Mindset can make or break your performance. If you find a few questions difficult, don’t panic — it’s likely tough for everyone. Stay composed and tell yourself, “This is just one part.” Use small breathing breaks during the paper to reset if anxiety creeps in. After completing one exam, avoid overthinking the questions and answers. Instead, shift your focus to the next paper. If you get any memory-based questions from any platform, use them for quick practice and revision to prepare better for the upcoming exam.
