Delhi Public School (DPS) Bopal in its two-day Annual Day on Dec 22-23 reflected on the three decades of the school’s journey, presented through performances that traced change across generations under the theme “Change: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow – (‘परिवर्तन – कल, आज और कल’)”.  The cultural celebrations, “Oorukkali 2025”, brought together culture, learning and values at the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium with participation and applauds from the parents.

Minister of State for Primary, Secondary and Adult Education Rivaba Jadeja, joined the programme on Day two along with noted actor Devarshi Shah, DPS Bopal’s Director Vandna Joshi and Principal Sabina Sawhney, along with parents and well-wishers.

Around 500 students from different grades took part in the presentations, which combined music, dance and theatre to depict the school’s evolution from its early years to the present, while also looking ahead to the future. The evening opened with a musical presentation by the school choir that blended singer Katy Perry’s anthem “Roar” with the tranquil melodies of the classical Raag Yaman, followed by a Gandhari dance sequence.

Scholarships and awards were presented to students for achievements across academic, sporting and creative fields. Presenting the annual report, Principal Sabina Sawhney highlighted milestones achieved by students over the past year and reflected on the institution’s 30-year journey.

Addressing the gathering, Minister Rivaba Jadeja underlined the role of education in shaping balanced individuals and strengthening society, encouraging students to value discipline, perseverance and purpose. Actor Devarshi Shah spoke about the importance of pursuing one’s interests with confidence and integrity.

The annual day celebrations began on Monday with “Sitara-e-Sanskriti: Stars of Eternal Values”, presented by around 450 students of grades 3 to 5. The first day featured performances focused on timeless human values conveyed through mythology, history and contemporary narratives. Actor and singer RJ Dhvanit Thaker was the special guest.

The young performers showcased themes such as wisdom, justice, courage, truthfulness, kindness and compassion through a series of dance sequences, skits and musical presentations. The performances included portrayals inspired by figures such as King Vikramaditya, Tenali Rama, Ahilyabai Holkar, Rani Lakshmibai of Jhansi and Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. The Kindness Fashion Show added a contemporary flair, while the energetic All-Value Dance and grand finale reinforced the message that values are meant to be lived, not merely taught.
