DPS International, Gurgaon, a member school of the DPS Society and an IB continuum school, recently held its 10th Annual Day. Parents, teachers, and other DPSI community members participated in the celebration to see their students perform wonderfully as they exemplified the school’s values of courage, integrity, and respect for tradition.

The cultural programme was a captivating tribute to India’s storied past, weaving global learning with the nation’s cultural richness. Centered on the iconic Battle of Haldighati, the celebration honored the life and legacy of Maharana Pratap, as students brought to life the values of courage, sacrifice, and determination through a vibrant tapestry of dance, song, and storytelling.

This radiant showcase of talent and heritage marked a proud moment in DPSI’s narrative, celebrating the enduring spirit of Maharana Pratap while reinforcing the school’s mission to blend cultural roots with global aspirations. The event honored not only the students’ creativity and dedication but also the timeless values that guide DPSI’s educational journey, leaving an indelible mark on all who attended.

The evening was graced by Shriji Huzoor Dr. Lakshyaraj Singh Ji Mewar of Udaipur, the 77th custodian of the House of Mewar, a 1,500-year-old legacy of valor, sacrifice, and cultural pride. Dr. Lakshyaraj Singh Ji joined the celebration as the Chief Guest, along with Ms. Devyani Jaipuria, Pro Vice Chairperson of DPS International.

Cultural enrichment is an important aspect of the DPSI teaching philosophy and is most beautifully articulated in such performances which motivate students to take pride in their heritage and capture timeless values through learning and expression. Dr. Lakshyaraj Singh Ji is a direct descendant of Maharana Pratap and keeps inspiring students and educators through his commitment to education, philanthropy, and cultural preservation, which he achieved via The City Palace Museum, Udaipur. His presence enhanced the theme of the event, linking the students’ performance to India’s heritage and the country’s enduring spirit.

Shri Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar of Udaipur remarked, “The students’ heartfelt tribute to Maharana Pratap’s indomitable spirit through this performance is a testament to the power of education to bridge tradition and modernity. DPSI’s commitment to cultural pride and global awareness is truly inspiring.”
