FIMC 2024 concludes, underscores FORE School of Management’s proactive engagement on AI business

The four-day long FORE International Management Conference (FIMC) 2024 held from November 28-30 attracted scholars, practitioners, and industry leaders from around the world, fostering meaningful dialogues on AI’s role in shaping future business models and work environments. The event underscored FORE School of Management’s commitment to academic excellence and proactive industry engagement.

The conference included workshops, interesting panels and keynote addresses on critical topics. Parallel sessions showcased innovative research across several themes, such as:

  • The impact of AI on financial systems, global value chains, and customer experiences.
  • Innovations in tourism, cultural industries, and supply chains.
  • Ethical considerations, transparency challenges, and the effects of AI on mental health and well-being.
  • AI-driven advancements in sustainability, education, and corporate social responsibility.

Prof. Keng-Boon Ooi, Distinguished Professor at UCSI University and Visiting Professor at FORE School of Management, led a session on “Pathways to Academic Success: Increasing H-Index and Citation Count.”, Prof. Swanand J. Deodhar from IIM Ahmedabad conducted an engaging workshop on “Designing Event Studies in Broadcast Search Contest.”

Dr. B.B.L Madhukar, Chairman of FORE School of Management, Mr. Sanjeev Bikhchandani, Co-Founder of Info Edge, and Dr. Vinayshil Gautam, Vice Chairman of FORE School of Management, delivered  thought-provoking  addresses during the conference.

A session on November 29 highlighted real-world applications of AI in business models. The speakers, including Mr. Shrikant Kothari (Head of IT, Microsoft India), Mr. Sushant Goyal (Business Program Manager, Adobe), Mr. Souradip Sarkar (Strategy & Expansion Lead, Blinkit), and Mr. Sameer R. Kapoor (Key Account Director, Salesforce), provided deep insights into leveraging AI for competitive advantages.

Other sessions such as “Legal, Regulatory, and the Ethical Landscape of AI,” chaired by Prof. Sriparna Basu with notable panellists like Mr. Arghya Sengupta, Dr. Arpita Mukherjee, and others; “India’s Leadership Role in the Global South: Ambassadors’ Forum,” chaired by Prof. Faisal Ahmed, featuring distinguished ambassadors and “Innovations in AI Technology: Beyond Traditional Business Models,” chaired by Prof. Saurabh Mittal, included panellists from leading organizations provided deep insights into these topics.

The conference offered rich networking opportunities for delegates, enhanced by a Heritage Walk and Light & Sound Show at Qutub Minar. The event culminated in the renowned Billimoria Session, led by Mr. Rajeev Dubey, former Group President of Mahindra & Mahindra, reflecting on leadership challenges in the AI era.

Editors’ Meet: A special session with eminent journal editors, including Dr. Sushil (Emeritus Professor, IIT Delhi), Dr. Keng-Boon Ooi (UCSI University, Malaysia), Dr. Mahim Sagar (Professor, DMS, IIT Delhi), Dr. Arpan Kar (Professor, DMS, IIT Delhi), Dr. Sachin Kumar Mangla (Jindal Global Business School), and Dr. Sudhir Rana (Gulf Medical University, UAE), provided participants with insights into emerging research trends and publishing opportunities.
