Qualified teams will advance to the Global Round, with a chance to compete at the Tournament of Champions hosted by Yale University, USA

Over 600 students from several leading top-tier institutions from across Bengaluru gathered at the Greenwood High ICSE campus in Sarjapur recently for the Regional Round of the World Scholar’s Cup. The event served as a platform to promote academic excellence while fostering teamwork, critical thinking, and creativity among participants, providing skills and knowledge that the students could apply to solve real world challenges.

The World Scholar’s Cup is a global academic competition that differentiates itself by providing a new approach to learning through the integration of team debates, collaborative writing, multiple-choice tests, and a multimedia quiz.

The theme of this year’s edition is “Reigniting the Future,” aiming to inspire a global community of future scholars and leaders, by initiating students in the process of critical thinking and analysis, encouraging them not only to focus on their existing skills and areas of strength but to also discover and practice other new ones.

The competition is structured in three stages – Regional Round, Global Round, and the Final Round. During the two-day Regional Round, young minds had the opportunity to explore diverse ideas, collaborate with peers, and push their intellectual and creative abilities. Teams that have qualified in the Regional Round will soon be invited to the Global Round, where they will have the opportunity to advance to the prestigious Tournament of Champions, hosted by Yale University, USA.

“The World Scholar’s Cup is more than a competition in academics; it’s a festival that celebrates learning and camaraderie and encourages students to explore various ideas and test their limits of intellectual and creative capabilities. We take pride in providing a platform that doesn’t just encourage excellence in academics but also fosters teamwork, critical thinking, and creativity. Events like this develop better global citizens who will find themselves well-equipped to lead and innovate.” said Niru Agarwal, Managing Trustee, Greenwood High International School.
