Hari Shankar Singhania School of Business (HSB) has introduced India’s first and only two-year fully residential MBA programme with a specialisation in Product Management at its campus in Jaipur’s JK Lakshmipat University (JKLU).

HSB’s MBA degree will be awarded by JKLU, recognised by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and accredited by NAAC with an A rating. This globally-recognised MBA programme, which specialises in Product Management, is based on the curriculum certified by the International Software Product Management Association (ISPMA)It is designed to prepare students for the transition from functional roles to becoming influential leaders in the field of Product Management.

Admission to HSB’s 2-year, full-time MBA programme with specialisation in Product Management will be open to candidates who have a STEM background with 2 to 4 years of full-time work experience. The candidates must also have appeared for CAT, XAT, GMAT, GRE, or the HSB Test. The selection process will also involve a thorough evaluation of the Statement of Purpose (SOP) and personal interviews. The academic year for the Founding cohort is scheduled to commence in June 2024.

HSB’s MBA programme is designed for those who are comfortable with technology, preferably with a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) background, and a proven track record of two to four years in full-time industry roles. Through in-classroom learning in year 1 and 6-month long full-time experiential learning in Year 2 delivered in collaboration with corporate partners, HSB’s students will be groomed as future business leaders, greatly enhancing their domain expertise and behavioural capabilities. The Product Management track in HSB’s MBA Programme is developed based on the globally recognised curriculum of ISPMA, to be taught by Hans-Bernd Kittlaus, Chairman, ISPMA as well as other industry experts from global MNCs and well-funded startups. The General Management courses will be taught by pedigreed faculty from leading B-schools in India and abroad while the Leadership courses will be taught by veterans from organizations like McKinsey, Infosys etc, informed Sujit Kumar, Director, HSB.

Speaking at the launch ceremony in Delhi on Oct 12, Dr RP Singhania, Chairman and MD, JK Tyre & Industries and also Pro-Chancellor, JKLU, said, “The success of any product is profoundly influenced by the experiences of its consumers. Product Management, as a distinct discipline, sets itself apart from business strategy, design, sales, marketing and engineering. This course is designed to equip learners with cutting-edge, industry-relevant skills that will empower them to make informed business decisions.”

In today’s rapidly evolving business landscape, where innovation is the key and customer expectations are constantly changing, the role of Product Management has become crucial for the success of companies. Unfortunately, there is a shortage of formal holistic education for Product Managers, which hinders companies from investing in Product Management to drive their growth. Recognising this pressing need in the industry and aiming to contribute to India’s rise as a global digital powerhouse,

Vice Chairman and MD, JK Paper and Pro Chancellor, JKLU, Shri HP Singhania, said, “Product managers are central to the digital transformation & innovation in future-ready organisations. By focusing on three tracks – General Management, Product Management, and Leadership, delivered through world-class faculty drawn from leading IIMs and practising industry experts, HSB’s MBA programme will provide unparalleled experiential learning, imparting industry-relevant skills to learners giving them a competitive advantage in the job market. The new-age managers will become stewards of innovations and growth of an emerging India.”

HSB’s MBA programme combines the fields of Technology, Design and Business, fostering a dynamic environment for students to collaborate with their peers from JKLU. programmeThis unique blend of disciplines offers students an immersive and hands-on Product Management experience, mirroring real-world scenarios, informed Dr Pramath Sinha, Member of Board at JKLU.
