Perumbakkam campus of the Casagrand International School, a leading educational institution under the Casagrand Group, is the venue of the 13th edition of the International Indian Movement to Unite Nations (I.I.M.U.N) Tamil Nadu Conference, which began on July 26. The conference is part of Casagrand’s commitment to fostering a culture of intellectual curiosity and global awareness among students. The three-day event will bring together over 650 students from 33 schools and 15+ reputed principals.

K.M. Chandrasekhar, former cabinet secretary of India, and Akshat Gupta, author, poet, and lyricist as joined the inaugural session of the conference as the chief guests. Setting the stage for a weekend of intellectual exchange and collaborative learning, the inaugural day saw students engage in discussions about the educational landscape in Chennai, the National Education Policy (NEP), and the latest policy updates.

The atmosphere was charged as student delegates from across the city convened in various committees  to deliberate on issues critical to today’s youth. Embracing the roles of national and international leaders, these young visionaries are poised to ideate, create, and innovate trailblazing solutions to pressing global challenges over the next two days. This event promises to be a powerful convergence of youthful energy and visionary thinking, set to redefine the future.

Commenting on the occasion, Dwarakesh P, COO, Casagrand International School, said “This event offers an invaluable platform for young minds to engage in meaningful discussions and cultivate essential leadership skills for their future. By providing opportunities for youth to discuss and debate critical global issues, we help foster a generation of informed, responsible, and proactive leaders. Hosting this conference underscores our commitment to nurturing the talents and potential of our students, ensuring they are well-equipped to face future challenges. We look forward to continuing our support for such enriching initiatives that align with our educational philosophy and mission to develop holistic, empowered individuals.”

The closing day, July 28th, will be led by practitioners from the Art of Living, who will teach students yoga and breathwork techniques to help them energize and prepare for the day ahead. The conference will conclude in the evening with an awards ceremony, where accolades and best delegation awards will be presented to recognize outstanding contributions and achievements.
