IIM Kozhikode and MTI-SAIL sign MoU for academic activities and HR

The Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK) and the Management Training Institute (MTI) of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAILhave signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster collaboration in academic activities and human resource development (HRD) interventions.

The MoU was signed by Mr. Sanjay Dhar, Chief General Manager, MTI-SAIL, and Lt. Col. Julius George (Retd.), Head (Admin & HR), IIM Kozhikode. This partnership will enable both institutions to leverage their expertise for capacity-building, knowledge sharing, and skill enhancement.

Key areas of collaboration include:

  • Organizing long and short-duration training programs for SAIL executives.
  • Joint research, case studies, conferences, and consultancy activities.
  • Certification programs and customized learning solutions.
  • Faculty exchange and academic support for mutual growth.

Highlighting the significance of the collaboration, Prof. Debashis Chatterjee, Director, IIM Kozhikode, stated: “This partnership embodies the spirit of collaborative learning and innovation. By combining IIM Kozhikode’s academic rigor with SAIL’s industrial prowess, we aim to create leaders equipped to navigate future challenges and drive sustainable growth in an evolving business landscape.”

The MoU also envisions exploring emerging opportunities, projects, and joint initiatives that capitalize on the strengths of both organizations. This strategic alliance reflects IIM Kozhikode’s commitment to delivering impactful education and research while contributing to the development of India’s industrial and corporate sectors.

The signing ceremony was presided over by Prof. Deepa Sethi, Dean (OEE&I), with a vote of thanks delivered by Prof. Deepak S Kumar, Chairperson Management Development programmes, IIMK.
