The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) has reopened the registration window for IndiaSkills Competition 2026–27 till 19 October 2026, following many requests from institutions and aspiring participants. The decision comes amidst renewed interest in skill competitions consequent to the exemplary performance of Team India at WorldSkills Competition Shanghai where, the contingent secured 10th position globally, winning six Silver Medals and 20 Medallions for Excellence.
This momentum was further strengthened when the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi hosted Team India’s WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 competitors at his residence on October 9 for a celebration of the achievements of India’s skilled youth.
Following the interaction, the Ministry received requests from institutions and aspiring participants to reopen registrations for IndiaSkills 2026–27. In response, the registration window has been reopened till 19 October 2026, providing more young people an opportunity to showcase their skills, compete at the national level and work towards representing India on the global stage.
The eligible aspirants who could not register earlier, can now avail the opportunity to complete their applications on the Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH) by 19 October 2026.
The Ministry has encouraged State Governments, UT administrations, Industrial Training Institutes, Polytechnics, Colleges, Skill Training Institutions and industry partners to disseminate information about the reopened window and facilitate registrations.
