Marking its centenary legacy, Indraprastha College for Women (IPCW, est. 1924), University of Delhi—one of India’s oldest women’s colleges—hosted Samanvay 2026, its annual celebration of talent and excellence, reaffirming its commitment to nurturing individuals who contribute meaningfully across diverse fields. The event, held on April 28, brought together students, faculty, distinguished guests, and parents.

Delhi’s newly appointed Lieutenant Governor, Taranjit Singh Sandhu, graced the occasion as Chief Guest. The ceremony was presided over by Prof. Poonam Kumria, Principal of the College, and was also attended by Prof. Balaram Pani, Dean of Colleges, University of Delhi.

A total of 73 students, including those from the Enabling Unit, were honoured for excellence in academic and co-curricular domains. The celebration concluded with vibrant cultural performances.

A key highlight of the event was the inauguration of the College’s new official website, designed to enhance accessibility and streamline academic and administrative processes.

In his address, aligning his remarks with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on women’s education and empowerment, LG Sandhu spoke about the evolving roles of women and underscored the importance of critical thinking in a rapidly changing world. He encouraged students to remain adaptable, solution-oriented, and grounded in their values while contributing meaningfully to society. He also highlighted the growing relevance of artificial intelligence and its transformative impact on future career pathways.

The principal highlighted IPCW’s strong academic foundation, its collaborative initiatives, and its alignment with evolving educational frameworks through NEP-led reforms and diverse academic engagements. She further emphasized sustainability as an integral part of campus life and drew attention to initiatives supporting student well-being, including mental health programmes and financial aid aimed at fostering inclusive education.
