Bengaluru-based Kai CIRCLE (Centre for Innovation, Research, Collaboration, Leadership, and Empowerment) and Kai Early Years, International Preschool in Whitefield, recently launched the Transforming the Early Years – Celebrating Foundation Educators movement and conference, bringing early childhood education to the forefront of India’s education agenda.

Led by Jennifer Sait, Co-Founder and Director of Learning & Development, the event honored educators as nation-builders. “If we are to build a nation of empathetic, emotionally resilient, and intellectually curious individuals, we must start by respecting and empowering the educators who shape these foundational years,” she said.

In her keynote, Dr. Swati Popat Vats, President of the Early Childhood Association (ECA) of India, stressed that early years are the bedrock of lifelong learning. “The early years are not preparatory — they are foundational. Those who teach during this period must be recognized as brain-builders,” she asserted.

The gathering drew educators, parents, school leaders, and innovators from across southern India and international schools such as Legacy, Canadian, Treamis, Ebenezer, BIS, and Chaman. Discussions centered on child-centric learning, teacher well-being, professional growth, and aligning India’s early education with global standards.

Workshops led by experts from India and Singapore showcased diverse frameworks including Montessori, Cambridge International, and the International Baccalaureate, while a curated exhibition highlighted classroom practices and resources designed to boost educator wellness and student engagement.

With this movement, Kai CIRCLE and Kai Early Years have set a new benchmark in India’s education landscape — affirming that early childhood educators are central to nation-building and that the earliest years of life form the true foundation of a flourishing society.
