In a magnificent celebration of unity and cultural harmony, Lovely Professional University (LPU) came alive with its latest edition of the annual fest ‘One India, One World’ at the university campus on April 24.  Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla inaugurated the three-day mega event held under the theme “Rang De Bharat – Celebrating Patriotism through Art and Culture”. With thousands of student participants, 30 curated exhibition stalls, and an enthusiastic audience of more than 40,000, the fest stood as an unparalleled celebration of youth, diversity, and cultural expression.

The festivities began with a powerful, student-led flag-off ceremony symbolizing unity across Indian states and nations. The grand parade featured magnificent tableaus and cultural troupes, proudly representing the heritage, art, and traditions of 28 Indian states, 8 Union Territories, and 31 countries, a vivid tribute to cultural pride and mutual respect.

Audiences were captivated by electrifying performances at the One World Dance Concert and Jhoomo Re – One India Dance Concert, where students showcased over 30 traditional and contemporary dance styles along with diverse musical expressions from around the globe.

Adding further prestige to the event were global leaders and dignitaries including Mr. Peter Hobwani, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of the Republic of Zimbabwe, Mrs. Jean Asantewaah Oduro, First Secretary (Consular and Welfare) at the Ghana High Commission, Mr. Conrad Nana Kojo Asiedu, First Secretary (Trade, Tourism and Culture) at the Ghana High Commission, H.E. Mr. Ganbold Dambajav, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Republic of India, Mr. Ntsukunyane Daniel Tsenoli, Third Secretary from the Kingdom of Lesotho, and Dr. Amandeep Grewal, Deputy Head of Mission at the British Deputy High Commission, Chandigarh. The LPU campus resonated with the rhythms of diverse cultures and the energy of thousands of students who, as part of LPU’s EduRevolution initiative, took full charge of the exhibition — from concept to execution. This hands-on experience reflected the university’s strong focus on practical learning. The entire celebration echoed a powerful message of unity and global friendship, beautifully bringing to life the spirit of ‘One India’ and the broader vision of ‘One World’.

Addressing the audience, Lok Sabha Speaker Shri Om Birla lauded LPU’s remarkable contribution to nurturing the youth, stating, LPU is a unique university where 40,000+ students live and study together on one campus, with learners from over 50 countries. “Today, I witnessed not just the rich cultures of India but of the world and what stood out was the unity, mutual respect, and understanding among all of you. Whether it is in technology, law, innovation, or research, you will lead the way and help India shine even brighter. People look up to Indian professionals with trust and admiration. I urge you, build your careers, but also build the nation. The mission ahead is big, so your efforts must be bigger. Dream big to achieve big. You—the youth of India—must lead the charge to make India a developed nation.”

Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Founder Chancellor of LPU, warmly welcomed and thanked Shri Om Birla for gracing the LPU campus with his esteemed presence. Dr. Mittal shared, “LPU believe in and live by the spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam — the world is one family. Though we come from different corners of the nation and the world, we are united as One India, One World. Diversity here is not just embraced — it’s celebrated. Events like these reflect our commitment to unity in diversity, global harmony, and inclusive education. Let us continue to build a campus, a community, and a country that thrives on knowledge, diversity, and equal opportunity for all.”

During the 6th Edition of LPU’s Study Grant Ceremony, LPU awarded scholarships of 1.24 crores to 124 deserving students, to pursue higher studies in India’s top institutions including IITs, IIMs, AIIMS, NLUs, and others. Over the last five years, LPU has disbursed more than ₹7 crore to over 600 meritorious students across the country.”
