Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), an Institution of Eminence Deemed-to-be University, successfully hosted the prestigious MAHE Model United Nations (MAHE-MUN) 2025 on August 17, 2025, after three days of exceptional diplomatic deliberations at the Manipal campus.

MAHE-MUN 2025 welcomed over 400 delegates from 45+ leading institutions across India. Entirely student-led, the event featured 40+ Executive Board members, 100+ Organising Committee and Secretariat members, and a strategic Board of Directors, exemplifying MAHE’s commitment to empowering student leadership and fostering collaborative excellence. The conference commenced on August 15 with a grand opening ceremony graced by legendary cricketer Mr. Anil Kumble, whose inspiring address set the tone for the transformative three-day experience. The opening day featured inaugural committee sessions and a vibrant networking fest that showcased student clubs and organisations through engaging debates, panel discussions, interactive games, and collective displays, fostering immediate connections among delegates.

MAHE-MUN 2025 distinguished itself through its innovative approach to Model United Nations simulations, featuring 15 dynamic committees that spanned an unprecedented range of domains, including international relations, economics, science, law, health, and creative crisis simulations. The conference successfully introduced groundbreaking first-time additions such as INCOSPAR (Indian National Committee on Space Research – a historic first in MUN), Fortune Global Forum (FGF), and White House Situation Room (WHSR), setting new standards for innovation in the Indian MUN circuit.

The diverse committee deliberations delivered exceptional outcomes, with high-impact simulations including the UNSC’s comprehensive approach to the Red Sea Crisis, NATO’s strategic framework for Euro-Atlantic security, Lok Sabha’s innovative economic policy solutions, UNGA-DISEC’s breakthrough approaches to post-conflict reconciliation, ECOFIN’s reformed global financial structures, UNFCCC’s ambitious climate governance framework, ICJ’s landmark genocide case proceedings, WHO’s enhanced pandemic preparedness protocols, and the Ministry of Magic’s pioneering magical rights charter, among other significant achievements.

The conference’s inspiring tagline, “Unity in Diplomacy, Strength in Diversity”, was fully realised through the successful integration of diverse academic and cultural backgrounds, creating an extraordinary exchange of ideas and perspectives.

Anil Kumble, legendary cricketer and former captain of the Indian cricket team, reflected on the experience and said it’s a privilege to be at MAHE for the Model United Nations Conference. “Cricket has taught me that not every day is perfect, but every day teaches you something — patience, resilience, and putting the team first. That’s the same spirit MUN embodies, where adaptability and teamwork make all the difference,” he added.

The remarkable institutional representation created a vibrant ecosystem of ideas, featuring delegates from MAHE’s premier constituent institutions – Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), Department of Commerce (DOC), Manipal School of Architecture & Planning (MSAP), Kasturba Medical College (KMC), Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MCOPS), School of Communication (SOC), Welcomgroup Graduate School of Hotel Administration (WGSHA), Mani pal Institute of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts (MISHA), and Manipal College of Health Professions (MCHP). External participation from prestigious institutions, including BITS Pilani (Goa & KK Birla Campus), NITK, Surathkal, NMAMIT Nitte, Dayananda Sagar University, Bharati Vidyapeeth New Law College Pune, Goa University, PICT Pune, SDM Law College, and St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), among many others, enriched the diplomatic discourse with diverse academic and cultural perspectives.
