Nayanta University, Pune, and University College Cork (UCC), Ireland, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore opportunities for collaboration across student and faculty exchange, joint academic programmes, and research initiatives. The MoU was signed during a visit by Dr Ranjan Banerjee, Vice Chancellor and Professor, Nayanta University, to the UCC campus in Cork on 25 May 2026.

The partnership reflects a shared commitment to advancing international engagement and strengthening educational ties between India and Ireland. Drawing on the rich academic commitment by both institutions, the collaboration seeks to create opportunities for academic exchange, collaborative learning, and research, while fostering deeper cultural understanding.

Recognising sustainability as a shared priority, this area is one of the first avenues for meaningful collaboration towards strengthening the undergraduate experience at both universities.

Speaking on the collaboration, Dr Ranjan Banerjee, Vice Chancellor and Professor, Nayanta University, said, “India and Ireland share a long tradition of intellectual and cultural legacy, and we seek to build on that through meaningful partnerships between students, faculty, and researchers. We look forward to creating opportunities that enrich learning while advancing knowledge across disciplines and geographies.”

Professor John O’Halloran, President, University College Cork, said, “Universities have an important role to play in fostering international understanding and creating knowledge that contributes to society. This agreement provides a valuable framework for connecting our students and faculty, encouraging the exchange of ideas and perspectives, strengthening academic links between Ireland and India, and contributing to creating sustainable future for us all. We look forward to working together in the years ahead.”
