Sanjay Ghodawat University (SGU), Atigre, Maharashtra has been ranked among the Top 200 Active Local Chapters in India by SWAYAM-NPTEL (IIT Madras) for the January–April 2025 semester. The university was awarded a coveted ‘A’ grade, selected from among thousands of local chapters across the country, and secured its position among the ‘Top 200 Active Local Chapters’ nationwide. A total of 1,599 students from the university participated in NPTEL courses during this session. Over 21 students from the university earned Gold Certificates, 142 students got Silver, 419 students received Elite, and 392 students completed the courses and received certifications. Additionally, 20 students were recognized as Course Toppers.

SWAYAM-NPTEL, a flagship initiative of the Ministry of Education, Government of India, aims to democratize high-quality education through Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). Managed jointly by the IITs and IISc Bangalore, the platform currently offers over 600 certification courses every semester across 22 disciplines and partners with 4,500+ higher education institutions across India.

At SGU, the initiative was led by Prof. Nilesh Vijay Sabnis, the university’s Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for NPTEL, who was awarded a Special Appreciation Certificate for his outstanding contribution. Departmental coordinators from across the university also played a vital role by consistently guiding and supporting students throughout the session.

Congratulating the Students and the Faculty members, Prof. Uddhav Bhosale, Vice-Chancellor, Sanjay Ghodawat University, stated, “This accomplishment has elevated the academic reputation of Sanjay Ghodawat University at the national level. The outstanding cooperation and leadership of all deans and department heads are truly commendable. We are now confident of progressing towards achieving an ‘AA’ or even ‘AAA’ rating in the future.”
