Week-long activities during Bhartiya Bhasha Utsav at ITL Public School exposes students to multilingualism

Culminating on Dec 11, (Dwarka) Delhi’s ITL Public School, conducted week-long activities to mark the Bhartiya Bhasha Utsav in sync with the recommendations of National Education Policy 2020. Bhartiya Bhasha Utsav witnessed a diverse range of activities based on multiple themes like Environment/Nature, Literature, Cuisines etc, helping students to explore the variegated aspects of culture like languages spoken, food and literature produced in different states of India by various poets and authors. The activities highlighted the catchphrase Incredible India through the diverse range of activities like folk tale narration, poem recitation and storytelling through puppets. The students enjoyed singing and listening to the folk songs of different states.

In sync with the vision of NEP that promotes Multilingualism and respects diversity and recognizes the power of language in teaching and learning in an inclusive society like ours, the Bhartiya Bhasha Utsav, showcased a linguistic variety our country proudly boasts of. A highlight was emphasis on classical languages of India while accentuating upon the theme of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat.

culminating on 11th December 2024. A language festival observed pan India to promote linguistic diversity and celebrate the rich tapestry of languages spoken in the country, it aimed at emphasizing upon the importance of preserving and promoting India’s linguistic heritage.

The birth anniversary of Mahakavi Subramania Bharati, which fell during this period had special activities conducted to orient the student about the great poet and his celebrated work. Students well versed in Tamil language narrated his poems, folk tales and told interesting facts.
