In the ‘Gita Sanidhya’ lecture series going on uninterrupted for the past one year organized by the collaboration of SRK Knowledge Foundation-Surat (SRKKF) and Narmad University’s Center for Social Studies, known speakers from across the country imparted knowledge for 55,000 minutes.

The concluding ceremony of the series held on June 25 was graced by the   Governor, Acharya Devvratji and State Education Minister Dr. Prafulbhai Pansheriya at Sanjivkumar Auditorium, Pal-Adajan, Surat on June 24.

It is pertinent to mention that under the new education policy, the state government has introduced the teaching of the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita from grades 6 to 12 in schools. The principles and values of the Gita will bring positive changes in the personalities and attitudes of students. The Minister while speaking in the event mentioned that through the knowledge of the Gita, students become cultured and civilized.

In his address, the Governor stated that there is no problem in life that does not have a solution in the Gita. When we feel disappointed or hopeless in life, this scripture can help us come out of negativity. It explains the harmony of action, devotion, and knowledge in a simple way.

He also emphasized that Indian culture has not only enlightened India but has also provided the understanding of “philosophy of life” to the entire world. He added that the ancient Vedas are the foundation of the creation of the universe. The Vedas, Upanishads, and the research conducted by ancient Indian sages are unparalleled contributions to humanity. The word ‘research’ originated from the word ‘Rishi’ is a matter of pride.

Shrimad Bhagavad Gita is not a specific religion, sectarian text, or doctrine-specific text, but a globally accepted scripture. It addresses global problems. Only by realizing the self can we find a meaningful path to live life. Even in this modern age, it is relevant. Lord Krishna in the Gita teaches humanity how to live the best life through Arjuna’s medium.

The presence of many lovers of literature from the city, including the President of Gujarat Sahitya Academy Shri Bhagyesh Jha, prominent figures such as Shri Kanjibhai Bhalala, Nagjibhai Dholakia, Arjanbhai Dholakia, Shreyansbhai Dholakia, and Director of V.N. Godhani School Bhaveshbhai Lathiya, among others, lifted the intellectual discourse of the ceremony.
