The 15th Annual International Conference of ABBS School of Management, Bangalore, held recently was on the theme of “Peace Economics, Peace Science, Conflict Management and Development.” For this ABBS collaborated with international partners, including the UNESCO Chair of Grenoble Ecole De Management, France, European SPES Institute, Belgium, and Binghamton University, State University of New York, among others.

The conference featured an impressive lineup of activities, including:

  1. A workshop on Gandhian Thinking, aimed at young audiences
  2. A panel discussion on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in business organizations
  3. A Faculty Development Programme on innovative teaching pedagogies

Spread over three-days, the conference focused on Conflict Prevention and Peace Management, thereby adding peace studies and conflict management to ABBS’s portfolio. One of the highlights was the involvement of the Mahatma Gandhi International Centre for Conflict Resolution and Management, inaugurated at ABBS in 2018. This center has been instrumental in promoting interdisciplinary research and problem-solving across business, society, and government sectors.

Dr. Madhumita Chatterji, Professor & Director of ABBS speaking about the conference said: “This conference represents our commitment to fostering global dialogue on critical issues affecting our world today. By bringing together diverse perspectives, we aim to contribute meaningfully to the understanding and promotion of peace and ethical development.”

ABBS’ commitment to fostering peace and ethical leadership is evident in its plans to develop an interdisciplinary certificate program and its focus on actionable problem-solving activities. As global conflicts continue to challenge our world, ABBS stands at the forefront of educational institutions working towards a more peaceful and sustainable future.

Prof. Manas Chatterji from Binghamton University, New York, a key organizer, commented, “The response we’ve received from renowned economists, Nobel peace prize winners, and industry leaders has been overwhelming. This conference is a testament to ABBS’s growing influence in the field of peace studies and conflict management.”
