As India’s luxury retail sector experiences unprecedented growth, the demand for sophisticated, customer-oriented professionals is rising. To bridge this talent gap, the Apparel, Made-ups & Home Furnishing Sector Skill Council (AMHSSC), in collaboration with ITEES Singapore, a globally reputed institute for vocational excellence, has announced the launch of a first-of-its-kind Luxury Fashion & Lifestyle Management Course at the Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Kandivali, Mumbai.

This six-month specialized training program is designed to prepare India’s youth for dynamic careers in the high-end fashion and premium apparel retail segments. The course integrates classroom learning, grooming and styling labs, retail store visits, and internships with leading luxury brands, providing participants with immersive, hands-on exposure to the global world of luxury fashion.

Speaking about the initiative, Dr. A. Sakthivel, Chairman, AMHSSC, said, “With India emerging as a hub for luxury retail, there is a growing need for trained professionals who can meet international standards. This course is a step towards equipping our youth with the skills, exposure, and confidence required to excel in luxury fashion and lifestyle management, both domestically and globally.”

Further he added, “Aligned with international retail standards, the curriculum focuses on developing communication, styling, sales etiquette, and customer relationship management—skills crucial in high-value retail environments. The course also introduces participants to global luxury trends, visual merchandising, and brand storytelling, ensuring they are industry-ready for roles in India’s expanding luxury landscape.”

The program reflects India’s commitment to global skilling standards and will play a pivotal role in transforming youth into luxury retail professionals equipped for both domestic and international opportunities.

The Luxury Fashion Consultant Vocational Course is part of AMHSSC’s broader vision to build specialized talent pools for India’s fashion and lifestyle industries through its Centres of Excellence. Applications for the upcoming batch are now open at the AMHSSC Centre of Excellence, Kandivali, Mumbai.
