Coimbatore-based Bharathiar University will now be able to offer a a wide range of disciplinary courses in business analytics accredited by the Institute of Analytics (IoA) after it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the International Skill Development Corporation (ISDC). The MoU was signed between Dr. Rupa Gunaseelan, Professor  & Director, BSMED, Bharathiar University, and Shone Babu, Head of Partnerships, ISDC.

Talking about the partnership, Dr. K Kaliraj, Vice-Chancellor, Bharathiar University said, “We are excited about our partnership with the International Skill Development Corporation (ISDC) in offering our students IoA accredited analytics programs. With this partnership, students will have the opportunity to learn domain-specific topics. This partnership will give students an opportunity to develop their skills at global levels, enabling them to obtain better employment opportunities in India and abroad. This is a great opportunity for our students to take globally recognised IoA accredited courses and gain membership of the IoA UK after graduation”.

During the prescribed timeline of the curriculum, students will be able to acquire in-depth knowledge of a variety of programs related to analytics that will help them navigate the business environment using analytics tools and techniques. Industry and professional trainers from ISDC will offer these courses through blended learning, which will include seminars, interactive workshops, as well as corporate engagement.

The Institute of Analytics (IoA) is the professional body for analytics and data science professionals in the UK and internationally, with over 4500 members worldwide. Speaking about the MoU,  Tom Joseph, Executive Director – Strategy and Development, ISDC, said, “Analysts are expected to play an increasingly important role in understanding and executing future business strategies, thus resulting in an unprecedented rise in the demand for experts in this field in the coming years. We are confident that this collaboration will allow Bharathiar University students to explore their talents and gain experience in a rapidly growing global industry”.
