D Y Patil International School, Worli on Sep 17 hosted the DYPIS Career Fair 2022 at St. Regis, Lower Parel, Mumbai where representatives from 40+ domestic and international exhibiting institutes and universities interacted with students and parents on educational opportunities. The fair was open to students of age 15-18 years.
Institutions from India, United Kingdom, United States of America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, as well as European nations such as Switzerland, Ireland, Germany, Spain, and France were present in the day long exhibition cum counseling event. .
Speaking about the need of such a fair, Dr. Ajeenkya D Y Patil said, “Indian students are increasingly looking at attaining global working skills and exposure ahead of starting their professional journey. The visiting students and parents also had the chance of listening to expert advice on selecting the right course and the appropriate location, to attain an illustrious career post the course completion. A panel discussion involving industry experts and a series of Break out Sessions were curated mindfully throughout the event for a comprehensive knowledge and information exchange.
The IBDP students of D Y Patil International School, Worli moderated the Panel Discussion ‘India as an Emerging Superpower’ which marked the presence of Dr. Ajeenkya D Y Patil (Chairman, D Y Patil Group, Chancellor of Ajeenkya D Y Patil University, and Pro-chancellor of Dr. D. Y. Patil University), Dr. Pratibha Jain (Founder, Eduabroad Consulting), Dr. Awanti Golwilkar-Mehendale (Founder, A.G Diagnostics Pvt. Ltd.), Arun Tiwari (Chairman, IndusInd Bank Ltd) and. Sandeep Ghosh (Group Country Manager- India & South Asia, Visa). The panelists shared their experiences and thoughts about the emerging job market in India wherein most multinational companies are dependent on the talent here and are hence setting up massive offices here owing to the potential. They also spoke about how digitization has led to the creation of more jobs and has aided the country’s economy to thrive, hence paving its way to becoming an emerging superpower.
The break-out sessions, namely – India vs Abroad by Dr. Pratibha Jain (Founder, Eduabroad Consulting); New Age Entrepreneurship by Pavan Allena (Founder and CEO, Metamorphosis); and Basics of Podcasting and Use of Communication – by Hamza Chitalwalla (Podcast creator ‘Out of the Hood’) touched upon the changing dynamics of how futuristic talent to innovation are now increasingly being found in India over abroad; the new ways to enter and sustain as an entrepreneur in the digital age; and importance of the evolving concept of engaging masses through Podcast and how to use Communication better in the virtual world.
