Elsevier, a global leader in scientific information and data analytics, announces the appointment of Prof. Dr. Sandeep Sancheti as Vice President of Research Relations & Academic Ambassador for India. Dr. Sancheti, with a long-standing and stellar career spanning over 40 years, is recognised for his outstanding leadership roles in esteemed organisations.

A distinguished institution builder, Prof. Dr. Sancheti served as President at both the Association of Indian Universities and Manipal University, Jaipur; as well as held key positions as the Director of NITK Surathkal, NIT New Delhi, NIT Tiruchirappalli, NIT Calicut and School of Planning and Architecture, Delhi. Dr. Prof. Sancheti was also Vice-Chancellor at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Chennai and most recently, at Marwadi University Rajkot. His vision also encompassed mentoring roles for NIT Goa, NIT Puducherry and NIT Sikkim.

Beyond administrative excellence, Prof. Dr. Sancheti is a distinguished researcher, contributing significantly to the field with over 80 research papers in national and international journals. He has received numerous accolades, including the prestigious Commonwealth Scholarship & Fellowship under Colombo Plan, SERC Fellowship from DST, Gol, and a UKISTRF award from the British Council.

In his new capacity at Elsevier, Prof. Dr. Sancheti will strengthen the company’s network among academic leaders and funders across India. His extensive experience aligns with Elsevier’s commitment to being a trusted, innovative and collaborative provider of services and content in the region.

Prof. Dr. Sancheti holds a PhD in engineering from Queen’s University Belfast, UK.
