Electronics Sector Skills Council of India (ESSCI) has stepped up its efforts to bridge India’s skill gap by launching a new Centre of Excellence in Mahabubnagar, Telangana, in collaboration with Amara Raja Advanced Cell Technologies Pvt. Ltd. The facility, inaugurated recently at IT Tower, Divitipally, will offer free training in three high-demand trades—Electric Vehicle Service Technician, HVAC Technician, and Electrician. The programs are ESSCI-certified, designed to give unemployed youth, especially women and underserved groups, a direct pathway to jobs and entrepreneurship.

For the current financial year, the Centre aims to train 360 candidates, with 120 seats in each program. Training will be delivered by ESSCI-accredited trainers, following a 70% practical, 30% theory model that emphasizes hands-on skills, industry-relevant tools, soft skills, and business literacy. ESSCI officials say the initiative goes beyond conventional job training. By offering a dual career pathway, graduates can either seek wage employment in workshops, service centres, and factories, or start their own businesses as contractors and service providers.

“This center reflects our vision of empowering India’s youth with future-ready skills,” said Saleem Ahmed, Officiating Head, ESSCI, at the inauguration. “By blending technical expertise with entrepreneurship support, we are not just preparing job-seekers but also job-creators, who will contribute to both the local economy and the nation’s growth story.”

The Centre was inaugurated in the presence of Mahabubnagar MLA Mr. Yennam Srinivas Reddy, alongside senior officials from the Telangana government and the Telangana Academy for Skills and Knowledge (TASK). With electric mobility and energy-efficient systems emerging as priority industries, ESSCI’s new initiative is expected to play a vital role in supplying trained manpower to industry while opening up new opportunities for the district’s youth.
