Great Lakes Chennai hosts its 20th Convocation, 650 graduate

Great Lakes Institute of Management, Chennai,  hosted its 20th convocation for the PGPM Class of 2023 – 2024 (Spirited Satavahanas), PGDM Class of 2022 – 2024 (Ahoms), PGXPM Class of 2022 – 2024 (Genesis) & PGPM (Flex) Class of 2021 – 2023 (Trailblazers) batches at the Convention Center, Chennai Trade Center Complex, Nandambakkam,Chennai recently. Approximately 650 students from various programs graduated. Cash prizes and gold medals were awarded to outstanding students from the four graduating batches Arun Murugappan, Executive Chairman, Tube Investments of India was the Chief Guest for the grand annual event.

This event witnessed the participation of the Board of Directors, Academic Committee, esteemed staff, and accomplished students of the Great Lakes Institute of Management. The Convocation ceremony was presided over by Dr. Suresh Ramanathan, Dean & Principal of Great Lakes Institute of Management. While addressing the students during the convocation, chief guest Shri. Arun Murugappan said, “As you embark on your careers, I encourage you to embrace the lessons of golf. Be patient, stay grounded, and always be ready to start anew, no matter how high you soar. The journey ahead will be filled with challenges, but it will also be filled with opportunities to grow, to learn, and to achieve greatness. As we look to the future, India’s growth story is far from over. In fact, the next two decades will likely be even more transformative than the last. But this growth must be sustainable, inclusive, and aligned with the global shift towards eco-friendly practices.

Mr Mohan Lakhamraju, Chairman of the Great Lakes Institute of Management said, “Taking responsibility for your actions and their outcomes is crucial. When you blame others or external factors, you lose your sense of control and power. Conversely, by owning your results, you empower yourself, acknowledging that your actions or inactions have led to the current situation, and you can change it. This mindset has guided many of my decisions, some successful and some not, but I have never regretted any of them.”

Dr. Suresh Ramanathan, Dean, of Great Lakes Institute of Management, presented the academic report and spoke about the path taken by the institution towards extraordinary growth over the years. In his address he said, “As I look upon the beaming faces of your parents, grandparents, friends, and loved ones, I see pride and joy overflowing today. Remember, you owe so much of your incredible, transformational journey to their unwavering support. They were the ones who gave you the courage to reach new heights, to overcome the toughest challenges, and who stood by you, offering both financial and emotional support every step of the way.”
