The feature film “Intrusion”, directed by final-year student Swapnil Sarode from the School of Film Arts of the MGM University, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, has been officially selected for the International Silver Screen Award, a respected platform that recognizes emerging voices in global cinema.

Intrusion was created as part of the School’s unique final-year curriculum that empowers students to write, direct, and produce a full-length feature film, a pioneering approach that sets MGM School of Film Arts apart as the only film institute in India offering this level of professional exposure to its students. Adding to the film’s success, lead actor Nishan Pawar, who played the central role in Intrusion, has been cast in a major role in an upcoming national television serial—demonstrating the professional-level training and visibility students receive during their academic journey. Chancellor Shri Ankushrao Kadam, Vice Chancellor Dr. Vilas Sapkal, and Registrar Dr. Ashish Gadekar congratulated Prof. Shiv Kadam (Head of the School of Film Arts) and director Swapnil Sarode and team for this remarkable achievement. They praised the institute’s vision and commitment to holistic and practical film education, which continues to produce outstanding talent for the Indian and global film industries. In the past seven years, the School of Film Arts has established itself as a breeding ground for new-age cinema professionals producing over 100 trained industry practitioners and contributing to prestigious accolades including a National Award.
