Mohan Babu University’s Tirupati campus was abuzz with pride and celebration as the University hosted its Convocation 2026, commemorating the achievements and aspirations of its graduating class early this week. The ceremony saw 3,516 students graduate across engineering, management, sciences and allied disciplines, marking a significant milestone in their academic journey and the University’s continued growth.

AC Shanmugam, Former Member of Parliament was the Chief Guest; Rajiv Shukla, Vice President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and Anurradha Prasad, as Special Guest of Honour. The University also conferred Paresh Maity, one of India’s most celebrated contemporary artistes, in recognition of their outstanding contribution to Indian sport and the arts respectively. The graduating class was addressed by Vishnu Manchu, Pro-Chancellor, Mohan Babu University, under whose leadership the University has grown into one of the region’s most dynamic institutions of higher learning.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr M. Mohan Babu, Chancellor, Mohan Babu University, & Founder and Chairman, Sree Vidyanikethan Educational Trust, said: “Over 25,000 students have graduated from our institution since its establishment, and many have achieved great heights and become very successful in their lives. I believe much of this has been possible because of our strong focus on discipline as part of education. Great education should be paired with dignity and discipline because that is what defines a truly educated person. Respecting parents and understanding their sacrifices is something I want all the students to take with them along with their degrees. The guests who graced the ceremony with their presence show us what hard work and discipline can do in life.”

Vishnu Manchu, Pro-Chancellor, congratulated the graduating students and their families along with faculty members. “It is a matter of considerable pride that three out of every four of our toppers this year are women, a reflection of the guidance, mentorship and opportunity this University endeavours to offer every student, irrespective of where their journey began.”  Remarkably, 75% of this year’s academic toppers across branches are women.

Chief Guest in his address said, “When you finally reach the place you dreamed of reaching, do not forget to turn around and help someone else make the journey. Move forward with humility, go forward with purpose, and wherever life takes you, remain a good human being. That will always be your greatest degree.”
